Tech Fact: Dash utilizes the power of Master Nodes. If you do not know what master nodes are, they are basically just dedicated servers running specifically for the Dash Blockchain. As a master node they host a complete copy of the entire blockchain which they use to verify transactions. If you would like to run your own master node on Dash's blockchain there is a requirement which they call "collateral". This collateral is actually 1000 DASH which cannot be spent without an interruption in the service of the master node. Master nodes also bring the capability of a governance model to Dash with actual voting possibilities.
